Grades 1 to 6
Each grade level comprises a bilingual programme, wherein the students learn to read, write and do mathematics in both English and French. The social sciences are taught in English while the physical sciences are taught in French. Bible is taught in English or in French depending on the grade level. In addition to these regular subjects, the children also greatly enjoy art, music and physical education, all taught by specialists.
From time to time, the children are given opportunities to perform at concerts or special activities and thus use their talents and develop poise and confidence.
Field trips are an important part of the curriculum and take place throughout the year to various points of interest depending on the grade level.
The Physical Education department organizes a Field day in June as part of the programme.
There are many ways in which the staff and students try to let the Christian character of Emmanuel shine through. Some of these are:
- Elementary students have their own time of devotions as a group in their classes every morning for approximately 20 minutes.
- All students take a Bible course several times each week which covers as many topics related to the Bible as possible. Also, the truth of the Scriptures integrate into all the subjects of the curriculum.
- We insist on a Biblically-based code of conduct.
